This is a writing assignment for you to respond to what you heard in the President's Speech to Congress, and the response from the Senator. Directions: (1) Use your notes to find two or three important Observations that provoked and Opinion for you. (2) Review the speeches if you need to refresh your memory--links are posted in Google Classroom. (3) Do a search on the internet for commentary on what the President said--I'd recommend something from MSNBC, probably the most polar opposite views to Trump. (4) Do a video search on the internet for commentary on what the Senator said in response--I'd recommend something from Fox News, probably the most polar opposite views to the Democrats. (5) Use the Doc posted on the Assignment in Google Classroom to write a short essay explaining why you had opinions about the two or three observations you studied, citing specific details from the President's and Senator's speeches AND from the commentary made by the news websites you used. Requirements for full points: You must write in complete sentences within proper paragraphs. Write an introduction paragraph stating the two or three key observations/opinions you will talk about. Write a paragraph or two about each of those observations/opinions. For each observation/opinion you need citations from a speech and another from the commentary. Finish the essay with a concluding paragraph that states which point is most important to you and why.
